Inspiration for this project came from the pottery found at the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. The design team researched Hohokam pottery design that was local to the region and was inspired by the beautiful and intricate patterns. The design process involved ADOT, the City of Casa Grande, the Gila River Indian Communities, and Wheat Design Group. The process started with research and inspiration, continued through several reviews and revisions, and ended with the final design presented above.
